Hi guys, just joined and looking for some help. I have a 2019 SR5 4Runner. Absolutely love this vehicle except that the seats aren't that great. mostly the center section of the back seat. we frequently haul three teenagers around and whoever gets the center rear spot is miserable after about 20 minutes. I did a little disassembly and see why...there's a raised steel plate about 5"x5" under the seat cushion along with a reinforced patch in the foam itself that makes the entire area hard as a rock. before I go monkeying with this....anyone know what purpose this plate serves? guessing it's there for a reason as it took a fair amount of design/assembly to get it there.
