WTB[SouthEast]: Fuel sending unit
#2
Not sure if this helps or not but there are universal Marine fuel level sending units. I realize they will not have the same ohms as your dash gauge. There is a converter box, a cheap china one (I'm using) and a more expensive one. I'm running my Passat diesel gauge cluster in my 87 Toyota with the original fuel sending unit and am using the small converter box installed behind the ECU kick panel to make them work together. It's fully adjustable, my Passat was the complete opposite ohm reading from my Yota. I tried setting it with resistance using a multi meter but watching the gauge as I moved the level was more accurate. I now read empty at a 1/4 tank.
The slide style fuel sending units are more accurate than the lever style.
