How are Toyo M/T's is the snow and ice?

I just bought a new to me '05 Taco D/C it has a set of 265/75/16 Toyo M/T's with about 80% tread. They are already siped, but was wondering if anyone knows how these tires perform in the snow and ice. My mechanic has some 37's on his Dodge Cummins and he said they are awful in the snow because their tread compound is too hard. Does anyone here have a different opinion? It's not that I don't trust my mechanic because I do. All too often though people forget the fact that tires perform differently on different vehicles.
