Wheel size

Newbie here!!

I just bought a 79 toyota pickup. A friend of mine just gave me some 33x11.5 nitto grapplers to throw on but they require a 16" wheel. Im looking to buy new wheels but not sure what backspacing. Is there any other info i should consider when searching for wheels?

Pics would help me to envision things.

Thanks!

I wish someone had left a reply with info or link to another thread, I've looked around a bit because I have virtually the same question. I'm looking to put 33's on mine.

16x8, 3.5~3.75" BS.

Or run spacers and put on 16x10, with 5" BS... It's dependent on what you want. Do some research to learn about wheel backspacing and offset. Pull your tires/wheels off and learn what may cause interference with a new wheel. Borrow a buddy's wheels for an hour (and a 6-pack if you're old enough), to see if they rub anywhere at anytime. (I have 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing. I also have 1.5" spacers to clear brake upgrade and match the IFS rear end...)

In other words---Learn. About. Your. Truck. Dont rely on us keyboard wheelers. We are all stupid. Most of us don't even really own a Toyota. We're really H@*p owners..........
