What is the biggest tire I can run with a 1'' wheel spacer and stock 5 star rims? I my be selling my tires and want to upsize. I would love to go to a 315. Will it fit with a 1'' wheel spacer and the stock rims? Neilconcept has his 5 star rims mounted on 315's but I pm'd him on a diff forum and havent heard anything. Will I be able to do it ? I really want 315's....

Ive got a lift. Coilovers in the front, lc coils in the rear with bilstein 5125's. I would of course get a bodylift. 1.5 inch probably. I have 285/75 right now. I would want to get 315/75/16. Im not worried about trhem fitting height wise. Ill make em fit. Just wondering if a 1 '' wheel spacer will be enough to clear 315/75 on stock rims in the front because of the A-arms..

At the moment I am running 305/70R16s (33x12) on the stock rims w/ 1" wheel spacers in the front only and I still rub my frame a little when turning. I have .75" between my tires and the a-arms sitting level so you'll be close w/ 315s, but probably ok. You are going to rub the frame bad though. Get 1.5" spacers if you go w/ 315s on stock rims.

I don't run spacers in the rear because when I had them on, I couldn't stuff the tires at all. On rough trail spots, the rear wheel wells would sit on the last 1" of my tires and prevent them from turning w/o tearing up the tread because the weight of the body was resting on them. Even w/ the spacers off I still rub a little, but at least they will stuff now. I can't see how 315s on stock rims could possibly be functional in the rear w/o at least 4-5" of lift and no spacers. I'm definitely going back to 285s (no rubbing) after these tires wear down.

I still have my (2) 1" alum. hub-centric spacers that I took off the rear, if you're interested, although I think you're better off with 1.5".

Yeah ive found a good deal on1' spacers thats why I was going to get them instead of 1.5. If I go to 315's I would add a 1.5 inch body lift so I would have about 5 inch or so. The lc coils jack it up pretty good. Then the adjustable co's in the front. I just may be selling my tires and if I don I want to make it worth while and upsize.

Keep in mind that the body lift won't do anything for your front tires rubbing on the frame. I bet you'll still rub the frame a little - even w/ 1.5" wheel spacers, but it should be tolerable. Also, 35s are pretty big for stock gears (assuming that's what you have). My guess is you'll be wishing you had stayed w/ your 285s once you drive it around...or start saving up for some 5.29s!

315's with spacers will work, it more depends on what tires you run. I run 35x12.50x16 Nitto Mud Grapplers, but they actually run 35x13.50 or a little more and I do rub on the frame at the front at full lock with 2" wheel spacers.

As long as I sell my tires the tire choices are maxxis bighorn, destination m/t, hankook dynapro m/t, and possibly the cooper stt. All in a 315/75/16. Would they all work with stock rims and 1'' wheel spacer?

I got 315/75 MTZ and 1.25 wheel spacer on the stock rims and they fit no problem. Just wanted to update for future searchers. Thanks all.

anybody run 3" wheel spacers? ive got a '89 runner withe 5" SAS and 35x12.50R17's on it, and planning for 37's.
right now ive got the 1.50" spacers in front to make the 85 axle the same as the rear '89. but i was thinking of throwing those in back and putting 3" wheel spacers in the front. is 3" to much leverage on the front hub? what do you think?

Im good on rubbing. I sometimes rub at full lock like turning up a hill on the frame. Other than that im good. Heres a pic. No bl at all. All suspension.

Tires look great! Did you have to do a lot of fenderwell trimming?

Thanks. I actually didnt trim all that much. Could probably use a little more trimming though.
