I'm a certified 4x4 fab tech and mechanic. I currently work at a 4x4 shop. I get to use it on weekends for personal stuff. That being said. I've done tons of swaps. Ls into scouts. C j5 cj7 etc. Diesels into square bodys. First time I've done as 3 4 swap. So far i have the original suv with motor pulled. Has 5 speed manual. Now buddy bought the 3 4 online local. Got engine complete with harness just under hood one. No ecu, dash harness, or donor truck. Now i know about engine mounts. I have plasma cutter. Mig, tig, stick welders. I know i need a ecu. What i need help with is easiest way to mate to 5 speed, I've heard bell housing off a 3.0 or adapter. I can cnc one of those. But besides getting as donor. I need a parts list and what needs to be done. Like move trans back or forward? New drive shaft? If anyone can tell me on a expert level what I'll need parts wise and what needs to be moved. Trans mounts? Engine ( make new ones, cut off ones from junk yard 3.4l.? ) To adapt trans , use a Bell off a.......... Or adapter plate also flywheel. I have the 22re one. Can that be adapted to engine or do i need one from a 3.4l.

I'm already in this thing. Have motor pulled and ready to install. Besides playing the figure out as i go. Just thought I'd ask what exactly i need now and way too adapt it all in a basic explanation. Remember i have many years Fab experience. I just need a expert on this swap to tell me the first step.
