Q: wax, paint and belt noise?

1. Would it be possible to wax by hand with Mother's pure Carnaube wax?

2. How can I paint plastic inserts in the stock alloy rims? All paint is worn out.

3. I have whistling noise coming from the belts (I think)
on low RPM, on high RPM it disappears. It's not always there.
Sometimes I don't hear it, but it gets worse when the air is humid.
I had timing belt replaced at ~70K miles at the same time all belts were replaced and some bearing - I forgot what it was - the size of a fist :-) Soon after I drove on sandy lake shore through some puddles. The truck was covered by sand. After that that noise started, might be coincidence though. I had belts checked - condition and tensions. I am now at 95K miles. Any advice would
be appreciated.

Leon
