Fuel Filter

Is it me, or is the fuel filter for the Toyota one of the most difficult ones to get to. If you guys don't think so, I must have did it the hard way.

On my old Carburated truck it dosen't even require tools. There are 2 pinch clamps on rubber hoses. The filter is in the rear right wheel well behind a plastic curtain and is held in place with a clamp type holder. I know on the 22 REs its a real pain.

Thank god for carburated motors.

Not on all Toys. On my 96 it was right within reach, under the driver's side door. But on my 88, it is on the inside frame rail and a major PITA to get to. Luckily I have a 3" body lift so it was only a minor PITA to get to.

I have the 22 RE and I think pain is an understatement. Severe pain is more like it.

On my nissan it is in the engine bay within easy reach. On my 4Runner it is a major pain. Hate those engineers.

Yeah, engineers are a pain. You know they design with the thought in mind that po' folks like us won't be able to do the repairs the hopefully we'll take them to a Toyota dealer for the repairs, in turn equals more money for Toyota.
