Cali or not? How can you tell?
I have a 94 4x4 p-up with a 5sp and the 22re. I know very little about the history of my truck. The previous owner didn't leave anything behind to signify whether he took care of it or not. But it had 75k on it 2 years ago and I figured it was a toyota so it was worth the risk for so few miles.
Now it's always been a dog, but the more I work on it, I'm thinking it's a cali model. It has plumbing out the wazu, more so than I'm used to. How can I tell if it's a california model? And if it is, what is needed to switch it to a 49state truck...parts wise?

Look for labeling either on the radiator support rail, the underside of the hood,
the iside of the fender well, or perhaps even in the glove box or over your visor, it's the best that I can come up with at the moment.
Good luck.

What kind of sticker? Would it be in some of the coding on the Vacuum routing Diagram on the hood? Or can I run the VIN?

"Emissions" would be the sticker that I'd look for.
You could perhaps also do a "vin check" and find out that way.
Good luck.

Yes. On the underside of the hood there will be a vehicle emission sticker that states it's compliant to CA smog emissions. Alternatively, you can take the VIN to any dealer and they'll tell you. The VIN will list if it's a CA vehicle.
