How much stronger is 9.5" over 8" ? Thinking about swap

I am on my 4th 8" rear differential on my 1990 V6 4Runner.

I am constantly breaking the pinion.

Now i am thinking about fabricating a 9.5" 60 or 80 series Landcruiser rear axle under my 4Runner.

How much stronger is the rear 9.5" over the v6" rear 8" ?

I have heard the 9.5" pinion isn't any stronger then the 8" pinion ?

with tires that big a heavier duty axle would be my the best. you could use a ford 9in. center with fabbed tubes or if it was me i would shave and narrow a 14B. as far as your question goes im sorry im not able to answer. i would start measuring pinion parts. How about toyota rear axle with the 8.4 rear diff. the third wont swap over you will beed the whole housing but its toyota and i believe the pinion shaft is of a bigger diameter. i bought used gears once and they were for an 8.4 and my pinion bearings were too small so i think they are bigger but again some measurement would be needed. as far as the 9.5 not sure of the pinion differences if any.
