Saturday Practice session

Faith Wheelers would like to invite some of the yotatech.com members to our home grown off road obstacle course. This Saturday, we can take a few hours to play. I won't be able to start until about 10:00 and we should probably be out by 2 or 3 so that we don't interfere with the Saturday night church.

The course is out behind our church in a vacant 3 acres. We have a mud put, which is slowly getting sloppier. I took a run there today. Locked up just the rear end and worked on digging some ruts through the middle. If the rainy weather keeps up, this should be some fun.

We also have some mogules that Jason built with his dozer. This can twist me up enough to actually get my tires rubbing, but a stock truck can still get through using the right lines. This is followed by a 45 degree off camber banked curve. We have a series of ditches that get deeper and deeper. At the bottom there is what will soon be a second mud pit as the rain continues.

Coming back up the hill is a rock garden. This hung me up for an hour today. A rock that I was climbing rolled underneath and wedged up under my front drive shaft and tcase. Some hi-lifting, rock stacking etc, finally got me out.

There's also a log hill climb, about 15 logs piled across the uphill trail, getting larger and larger the farther up you go. There's also a hill climb like we had at the gravel pit. Very fresh dirt, most of it has never been walked or driven on.

I do have to limit this to 8-10 rigs as we don't want to upset the neighbors.

If you're interested, let me know. This is a great opportunity to test you and your rig, and for those who'd like it, to get some training in how to handle their rig over all sorts of different obstacles.

This is in Milton, right off of Milton Way about 1.5-2 miles west of Meridian Ave, very easy to get to, and a pretty fun little practice course. Not only would the 4x-ing be fun, but we might be able to come up with some other additions/mods to the course. The church is, of course, very supportive of this, or they wouldn't have let us build the course in the first place, so please, come on out.

One thing we'll need to do Scott, is get that rock pile moved down below to the Rock Garden. Put that winch cable back on, use it till it breaks. A little flat spot won't hurt it :o)

We'll be either winching or strapping and pulling the rocks down. I have a broken strap that we can fashion into some kind or harness around the rocks.

Dale, get yourself and old tire chain made from chain links, they work very good for moving large rocks. Hard part is to build a holding device for the winch cable...
