What is this truck worth? 1985 pickup 4x4 Sr5 EFI

Hey guys, long time lurker here, I love this forum and have tons of respect for all the members here. I'm thinking about selling my 1994 ext cab pickup Sr5 5spd and buying a 1985 ext cab pickup Sr5 5spd efi.

I just love the clean and simple look of the 1st gens, and I'm ready to say goodbye to the 3vze and hello to a nice and simple 22r.

Here is an ad for a truck I'll be looking at this weekend. I've never owned a 1st gen so I was hoping to get advice on this before I spend too much money.

Here is the ad:
http://slo.craigslist.org/cto/4907339428.html

Other info i got from seller:
-300k on the chasis, 50k on engine and tranny (he doesn't have receipts)
-this guy is clearly flipping the truck, he's only owned it for 1 month.
-apparently needs paint

Something to keep in mind:
-I'm buying the truck in LA but I plan on shipping It back home to Hawaii later this year.
-I'm looking to learn a lot more about wrenching and am excited to work on the 22r.
-i want this truck to last a long, long time

Thanks in advance for any help!

dead link. 1985 is a 2nd gen pickup, not a 1st gen.
what's the price on the truck?

Not sure about California but here in north Texas that truck would go for about half the asking price.

Ditto for Colorado. Even if it were in near factory condition with those kind of miles very few folks would pay more than $3k for it here.

Its pretty, and its rust free. But if you are going to chop it, look elsewhere.
