Mystery Button

Well guys I've come across a button I cannot figure out what it does. No it's not red (attached)

I don't have all the owners manual addendums for my options because they were out when I bought my FJ. I've punched the thing a dozen or so times and I can't see or hear anything different.

My FJ is fully loaded with all the options so if someone else has it in their FJ please tell me what it is before I go insane or wear it out pushing it

Sorry, I guess I should have pointed out which one I'm talking about.

The one between the parking sensor button and the AUX input. The one that looks like a car with a speaker in the middle of the roof with OFF under it

which button you are talking about is a mystery to us also. I see three buttons
1. Looks like the back-up warning system on/off
2. Looks like recycled air off
3. says Aux

I know #1 is the backup sensor And the AUX is the "IPOD" input but the #2 button between them.

Recirc is another big round button up higher and the subwoofer button is on the next row up. I do have the VIP security system that is susposed to have a motion sensor. Maybe I'll mess with that and see if I can annoy my neighbors

Could it be to turn off side curtain airbags?

Talking Solved

Yep looks like the motion sensor on off button. Set the alarm off by sticking my hand in the open window, punched the button and reset - no alarm the next time.

Guess that will be good when the dog is in the rig.

That is your motion sensor for the factory alarm.

Sit in your rig arm you alarm.

Flap your arms around, it will off.

I tested this dang button while on a drive from Arizona to Houston. I pulled over to sleep a bit, armed my alarm, hit the button and climbed in the back to go to sleep. Rolled over about two minutes later and my damn alarm went off. Then I was wide awake and decided to drive on... :-\ Maybe I did somethign wrong, and maybe it still senses car movement. I dunno...

I think you had it right when you said "it looks like a speaker on the roof" in the Toyota Manual it says that the FJ Cruiser is equipped with NXT technology speakers, these are flat speakers that can be molded into different shapes of the int. of cars. I have also read in several places that the FJ Cruiser Head Liner is one of these NXT Speakers (your roof is a tweeter) and it might be the on off button for that.

When I first go my FJ I to thought it was the ceiling speeker on/off switch. It is there to turn off your motion senser inside the FJ. So when you leave your Dog inside and set the alarm it wont go off. The way it work is , you push the botton then close your door and set the alarm as normal. Oh a red light will flash on the dash. And yes the roof is a speeker!!!
