MSN auto reviews the FJ cruiser

My only complaint are the nipple tail-lights.
Notice how the FJ is sloped (raked) like the new 4Runner?
What is up with nose down ideology?

Cuz everybody griped that old ones were down in back...
Virtually all new SUVs and all new trucks in recent years come that way (high in back.)
The combination of the ability to carry loads yet have a nice ride when unloaded (as well as loaded) is why. Longer rear springs (either coil or leaf) can start off initially smooth, then gradually get stiffer as they compress. If it started off level it would bottom out too easily.
At least it won't sag in the rear over time like the old tech did...

Come on, your telling me that people complained about the sag, so Toyota went overboard in the other direction? I think Tahoes, Suburbans, Cherokees, Pathfinders, Xterra's, etc. all ride smoothly unladen, and they don';t look like they are constipated driving down the road. Make it level like every other vehicle, it looks ridiculous raised up and not level. Kinda like the engineers just popped a stiff spring in there and called it a day.

said it before, and Ill say it agin, this thing is fugly, would never buy one no matter how capable they were off-road, and no matter how cheap they were, I hate the look of it. It looks too much like a plastic tonka toy

I'd be hesitant to get a first year design though, before the bugs got worked out.
