fj cruiser 3rd place?

I was in a hurry shopping yesterday and saw a write up in either "car and driver" or "motortrend" comparing some of the new SUV's on and off-road(H3, Xterra, cherokee laredo and Fj). I didn't have time to really read the article but I did notice that the yota came in 3rd behind the cherokee and Xterra. Anybody get a chance to read the article?

I just got the new Motor Trend and they compared the FJ, H3, Xterra, and Liberty. The FJ was first, Xterra 2nd, H3 3rd, and Liberty 4th. They did a good write up on the whole test and I feel they picked the best vehicle out of the group.

Car&Driver and Motortrend often are at opposite ends of the spectrum when evaluating vehicles.for example,a year ago Motortrend gave "truck of the year" award to the Toyota Tacoma while Car&Driver said it "handled sloppy" and gave it an overall negative review..there are other examples where this has also happend, but that i cant think of any off the top of my head right now.

One probaqbly goes by offroad ability, while the other checks to see which one handles most like a car.

most of them are used to test-driving porsches and ferraris, so anything that doesn't pull .90g is "sloppy".
