Blown Stock Strut

Was out doing a little exploring today. Nothing serious, just some fire roads. I noticed that my right front wheel started making noise when the suspension extended quickly. It got worse with time. I stopped several times, checked all bolts (including lug nuts), welds, connections, CV boots/axle, sway bar etc. Nothing seemed to be amiss. It was a little hard to stick my head in the wheel well with all the mud dripping from the many mud puddles that I crossed. Finally when we left to go home and stopped at a gas station did I notice the oil. When the wheel wells where wet, you really couldn't notice that there was oil all over the place. It looks like my strut lost a seal or something. Oil all over the place. I think the noise was from the suspension topping out quickly as the strut was unable to restrain the spring (OME 886). I guess I should have replaced the struts with OMEs in the first place. Like the saying goes, a break down is just an opportunity to upgrade .

Here are a few pics:

Well thats not good, must have been the weight of the Steel bumper and winch+ skids, sliders, and springs that where to much for the stock shock to handle! I guess you'll have to get new shocks now
