Help Advice Needed for Neutral Safety Switch
On my 96 T100 with an automatic transmission, the other day wouldn't start. I found out the neutral safety switch is acting up. I notice the gear indictors for Park, Reverse, etc seemed to be hanging up, like when I went to put it in park, it was still showing it was in reverse. If I move the shifter back and forth everything seems to work again and the truck will start. Its like the linkage or something with the switch is slipping or something. I would think the neutral switch is on the transmission, so I haven't looked at it yet.Has anyone here had an experience with this? Thanks

I pulled the neutral switch on the transmission and it is definitely the problem. Inside is a little plastic lever which is part of the switch, if it breaks, vehicle will not start and you are stranded. If this happens, to get home, the best you can do it go underneath, pull the connector off the switch and jump the larger two wires of the connector, which I think are black and other is black with a orange stripe.
