err duh
1999 tacoma

as to defrost on yota`s does it automatically turn on the ac compressor to dry the air???
every car I have had defrost setting just determined where the air flow was directed and the ac if wanted had to be turned on manually... as to whether it was on defrost i don't know i noticed this a few days back...
I'm only at work so ill go play with it in the lot.

and yes i did search but didn't see the same issue

I`m guessing that you are correct and that it was in defrost...

that's weird i have never had a car that automatically turned on the compressor before... but when I turn it to defrost the RPM`s go up so....

well now that i feel like a complete fool at least i know its not an issue

Lol ya man, defrost will kick the compressor on. Which is great until I drive the 86 and it doesn't work that way

Most new cars the defrost turns on the ac which helps big time to pull the moisture off the window. Some cars you can turn off the ac when in defrost, some you can't.
