can't disarm my alarm

my alarm (clifford arrow 3) won't disarm. i have 2 keypads that do nothing, one is never used. the same thing happened about 2 weeks ago while i was leaving work. i caught a ride home and back to work the next day and the alarm disabled on the first try and has worked fine for daily use since and now it's acting up again. at first i thought it was the battery on the keypad since it's the same one i've been using since i got the alarm (2001ish), but the never-used one doesn't work either.

help!

Do you have Cartoys up there?
They are a dealer of Clifford alarms.

Sounds like the brain is out of sync with the remotes.
How long have you had it?

I think Clifford has a one or two year warranty on them.

ok, i'm convinced...

it's something to do with the outside temperature. it's acting up this morning and it got down to -15 last night (-7 right now at 2:30pm) and i still can't disarm. batteries are fresh and i haven't had an issue for the past 2 weeks during which i don't think the temp has gone below -5.

ps: temperature in celcius...

I would have to agree with Corey. Sounds to me like the brain is acting up. Could also be low voltage, low voltage does really weird things with electronics. In the meantime you can still use your car. Look for a little black button (valet button) somewhere on the drivers side. I usually would install them low on the dash when I did them. When you use the key to unlock the door the alarm will probably be set off when the door is opened. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ON position and then push the valet button. This should disarm the alarm. And props on the avatar, those videos are hilarious!

oh ok, i didn't know the key had to be in the ignition. i've tried to disarm with the valet code but i never worked and i guess now i know why.
