So, I finished my 3.4 swap with a completely rebuilt engine but the new fuel injectors I used were el-cheapo and are leaking causing a check engine light for running rich and flooding if it sits too long.
Anyone have a favorite vendor for new fuel injectors?
How about suggestions on where to send an old set for refurbishment?
I'm not terribly enthused about spending $150 each or more for new ones from Crappa Auto parts, but it's better than over $200 I've seen from stealerships.

 

I've seen any number of threads for parts sources. Heck, even Rock Auto is a decent source. Just wherever you go, stick with OEM. Only way to go, IMHO. Always, always OEM, if at ALL possible.

Do you still have the original injectors? I'd shoot them down to Wayne at RC Fuel Injection. $179.00 to clean/rebuild all 6 of mine

 

Thanks for the reply, that is probably the way I'll go.
I think there is a set of 6 OEM injectors under 4 feet of snow out back on the remains of my donor, I'll have a look in another couple of weeks when it melts off more.
For now it's running good, I just have to keep resetting the code and either let it sit long enough for the gas to evaporate off, deal with the hard start (flooding) or restart it before it gets to that point.
Anyone else have good personal experiences with any rebuilders so I can shop around?

 

Make sure that before you put the new (to the truck) injectors in, you get a GOOD (again, read OEM) set of o-rings/seals for them. Almost as important as the injectors themselves, really. Don't rely on the original rubber o-rings and seals to work on a different set of injectors. Chances are, the old seals will leak on new injectors.

Thanks for reminding me about this thread, time to close the loop.
I ended up sending a set of injectors to Mr. Injector and my reply was that they were all leaking externally and were junk. He even shipped them back to me free of charge, so I am pretty sure he is a straight shooter. His recommendation was a set of reman OEM injectors from Rock Auto and they have been working fine for months. I still get some hard starting occasionally, but I think the codes are a thing of the past.
