Negative effects of burning rich??

I heard that burning way to rich has some type of negative effects on the rings??? If this is not the case what are some concerns with waiting to fix the problem?

If it's really rich the extra gas can wash the oil from the cylinder walls, then your rings are not lubed and wear out quicker. That gas will also end up in the crankcase and dilute the oil, which could cause other parts to wear out.

Well... if you are poor and burn the rich you are definitely going to jail.

If you are talking about "burn" as in late 80's elementary school style, IE "You got burned"... then the rich will most likely just try and sue you for being a smartass.

Running a rich mixture will foul the cat and is obviously costing you fuel mileage.

Good thing is, it's probably not hard to fix.

When was the O2 sensor changed last? Often times, it will affect engine performance but not light the CEL.
