Unhappy Kartek...

So a few days ago I went to Kartek Offroad to buy new camburg upper control arms. When I got there and informed the guy that I would like to purchase the camburg upper arms he started going off on camburg treating me like an idiot and telling me what crap camburg was. He explained to me that the total chaos arms are far superior. He said that the unibals camburg uses are not very good and will only last about a year. He also said that the total chaos arms are chromoly whereas he camburgs are not. My question is...can i get the camburg arms and save the 250 bucks or are they a waste of money as the chillmaster at kartek made them out to be. He also said, year to date they had only sold 3 camburg arms and about 40 total chaos arms. What do you guys think...Camburg or Total Chaos?

Camburg. They are just as good as the Total Chaos, just less expensive.

I would second the camburg arms, I dont think you need chromoly for the upper arms, since they are not really bearing any real load.

You might want to ask calrockx about the camburg arms. He put some on not to long ago.

yep, i've got em.

they're fine, and a quality product. the camburgs are chromoly as well.

total chaos is also good, but not $250 more good. they use a little bit beefier parts from what i've seen on BruceTS's runner, but i'm sure for what i use them for, and you would, camburgs are the better buy.

also, the total chaos have the slight problem of hitting the top of the wheel well at full compression...i think that's the problem, i'm sure bruce can correct me if that's not it. it's definitely not a big deal, and can be easily fixed, but something to consider.

if you're the kind of wheeler that i am, putting these on a daily driver that hits the trails often but isn't desert racing every day, i recommend the camburgs.

one more thing, if you're around orange county, you can also purchase camburgs from Demello Offroad in Santa Ana. that's where i got mine.

Cambug makes a quality product, but you get what you pay for. TC uses only the best materials in their fabrication. Kartek would know about the Uniball joints since they sell them. I've installed both, the problems that the TC arms have are very minor and not all vehicles are affected. I've beat the living daylights out of the TC arms and they have held up quite well. What it really boils down to is your budget and the type of wheelin your planning on doing.

Yea, Im actually in Yorba Linda. What did demello charge for the arms. I was looking at his website and didnt see them priced on there. I know Kartek in Corona has them for 350. Thanks for the input, i think i'll go with the Camburgs.

yeah...
i guess if you can swing it, go for the TC. i'm the classic "poor college student" but at the same time, i don't want to put low quality crap on my runner, so the camburgs fit my needs.

if you do get the camburgs, rest assured you still have a quality product, and it sure beats stock.
