Front Diff Maintenance

Front Diff Maintenance
Well, I noticed the other day that one of my axle "side gear shafts" has popped out(passenger side on a 92 4Runner).
Now, I know that the front 7.5 diff is full floating, and backed up by the Haynes manual means I should just be able to slide it out, clean everythign up and slide(read pound) it back in, with new seals of course.
But I'm wondering if anyone who has done this can offer an advise of "things to watch out for". The part I figure is going to require the most "delicate touch) is the actual dropping of the front diff.
