AN fitting sizing, plus a small tool gloat
#1
Last time I was at the speed shop trying to size a fitting in order to purchase an AN fitting they measured it with a caliper and told me what size it is -
Can someone tell me how to convert this?
I googled it and did not find anything helpful.
For a male fitting (IE i need a female fitting for it)
outside 13.85 mm or .545 in or 35/64"
inside 7.35 mm or .2875 in or 19/64"
For a Female fitting (IE I need a male fitting for it)
outside 18.90mm or .745 in or 3/4"
inside 14.50 mm or .570 in or 9/16"
For anyone who wants to know this is Toyota 4Runner Transmission cooler line.
I would like to know how to do this for future reference as well. Maybe there is a chart somewhere with corresponding sizes?
What about thread pitches?
Justin
TOOL GLOAT - I got one of these 6" calipers that reads MM, IN, and Fractions from chipsfly.com
