DLX SR5 differences?

So while doing research for my swap it came to my attention that one of the differences between an SR5 model and a DLX model is the gauge cluster. I read that SR5 models are equipped with a gauge cluster that includes tach, oil pressure and volts.

However my truck is clearly stated as a DLX (on the original window sticker from 1990) but has an "SR5" gauge cluster.

Just curious about why this may be and what other details anybody might have as far as model specific details and or variants.

looking forward to seeing what y'all havtasay

People have used the term "SR5 Cluster" a little loosely, and started with what was offered in the earlier Trucks.

I believe you could only get the higher end gauge cluster on "SR5" models from 1979-1988 (or 1989 if you had a 4Runner). This is where the name of "SR5 Cluster" came from.

But starting at the 1989 model year for Trucks and 1990 model year for 4Runners, you could get the higher end gauge cluster in Deluxe (DLX) models, and of course the SR5 models too. This means that if a Truck or 4Runner of your body style has an original higher end gauge cluster, it could be either a DLX or an SR5 model.
