any online places to buy gas shocks for a canopy hatch?
im close to buying a nice used canopy for $100 but the gas shocks are $30 ea. there's got to be a cheaper place to get them from.

Actually, $30 a piece isn't too bad as long as they're nice ones... the OEM replacements for my 4Runner's rear hatch are REALLY expensive.

because they are required to hold up much more weight than canopy shocks. i guess if i was paying a couple hundred for the canopy, $30 a piece wouldn't be a big deal.

You might look at a few hardware stores just to check, but I don't think they will be any cheaper.

Princess Auto in Coquitlam had some surplus ones a couple of weeks ago, $5 each. No idea if they'll fit but you can't beat the price.

ya, i thought they were a possibility. i called, but of course i got the pizza faced 15 year old that doesn't want to check so he just says they don't have them.
