85 axle overhaul

finnally gettin into rebuilding my straight axle preparing it for the str8axle swap, and was wondering what yall have been using to clean up knuckles and caked on grease and what not?
is oil eater any good?

Degreaser (some purple stuff) and a pressure washer.

We use Zep orange clean (in a windex type spray bottle) and it works pretty good.

That and a little elbow grease. A pressure washer works wonders too. You could always take it to the car wash on a trailer if you dont have one at home.

i likes the car-wash with parts on a trailer idea a lot....but knowing my luck, i'll lose something important in there and it'll jam up there track thingy!!

so far oil eater seems to be working alright, also got some parts/carb cleaner and left some nasty parts soakn and it worked well. elbow grease works pretty well to remove axle grease so i guess ima have to do that....
