Timing chain Guide options?

So I have to replace my timing chain guides on my 92 22re and I was wondering what I should replace them with. When looking this up directly a lot of information said stick with OEM but then everywhere else says get the metal guides. Should I replace with OEM or go with metal backed guides? Personally, I would like to go with metal guides to avoid this problem in the future, so if I go with metal ones what kind should I buy? I see a bunch of eBay ones, but I've seen lots of people recommend enginebldr ones? This is my first time dealing with anything like this, I just got the truck about 9 months ago.

The only real difference is the metal backed guides help keep the chain from rubbing through the timing cover.

I buy all my 22re engine parts from Engine Builder

5 yrs. ago, I replaced the head, and did the front cover/timing components. All engnblder parts.
His are metal backed on the side that tends to break. Other outlets are metal backed on both sides.
Fast forward to 2018, and am finishing up a complete rebuild on this engine this week. There was zero noticeable wear on his guides with a tick over 100k miles of use. Now, to be truthful, I've only pulled 2 or 3 of these engines apart over the years. Never really seen 'wear' on any of them. BREAKAGE, on the other hand; yes. That plastic gets pretty brittle from age and heat. I'd seriously doubt the ebay plastics will give as much service as oem..
I've heard the ebay metal backed ones are a softer rubber coated, which sounds like the rubber gets buzzed off in short order... I imagine the chewed up rubber hopefully all ends up in the filter... and not packed around the intake screen...
So, my experience on engnblder parts is 'excellent'. There may be better, but there sure a lot worse. I can't say without trying them all.

Thank you rancherman that covers my question pretty well, I'll probably get the ones from engine builder then.
