Anyone here use their stock roof rack to carry their spare? I tried in the past but the tire eventually crushed the front crossbar. I have replaced it with one form the junkyard since.

How about mounting it between the front and rear crossbar resting on the ones that lay flat against the roof? I hadn't done it this way before due to not wanting to dent the roof or something (probably just paranoid).

Anyone have any pics of their setup?
