Hi I have a 92 yota 3vze 4x4. I recently noticed that when climbing a hill at high speeds (60-70) the truck will sometimes cut out like its not getting fuel. Well the other day I took it on some dirt roads for awhile then after returning to the pavement it would do this sputtering/hesitation on flat ground while accelerating. Now it seems to be doing right after start-up and while accelerating and going through the gears. Is this a fuel pump/fuel filter issue? Any help would be greatly apprecieated. Truck has 181k on it.

 

Fuel filter might help and it's the cheapest thing, so good place to start.

 

i have a 92 yota 4wd 5speed 190k 3VZ-E i just bought last week, he said the noise it was making was caused by the alternator bearing going out. the noise is right around the alternator\ distributor. i changed the alternator, distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. the 2 day after i bought it, it started having a loss of power. about 3 hours ago i was on my way to work and it felt like the timing belt snapped but the engine stayed on. the idle is even rougher now but when u put it in gear and start letting out the clutch it dies any ideas??????
