silicone the intake manifold gasket?

Im About To Put The Intake On A Reman 3vze Engine And Was Thinking Maybe Some Silicone Wouldnt Hurt. Its The Metal Gaskets With The Rubber Rings In Em. Would The Toyota Silicone Have Any Detrimental Effects On The Seal???
Also, Should I Have Had The Intake Decked Even If It Seems Like It Fits With No Warpage?

Thanks
Jp

DO NOT silicone it. Have the intake decked, and use a factory gasket. It will not leak. You don't want to suck any of the silicone into your intake, it can cause a multitude of problems.

!!!!!!

do not put an oz of silicone on that

deck it and use the gasket, it came from the factory that way, and there is no reason to add anything to it.

the previous owner of my truck ran 3 kinds of silicone behind the timing chain cover [black], the oil pan [clear household], the head gasket [black and red], and amazingly he did not touch the intake.

needless to say, after 2 long hard days, and countless sparks, i called the guy up at ten PM and reamed him out for his mechanical folly.

Thanks

Thanks for the input, the reason I wanted to was because the heads looked like there was some there before.

I talked to a guy at the local machine shop who gets em in all day and he said that the toyota guys just put a tad of gray silicone or permatex around the water ports only.
