Rough idle after bvsv replacement 1995 4runner 3.0

Hello. I recently replaced a broken bvsv on my 95 3.0, and now it has a rough low idle, hunting up n down. It ran better when it was broken. Lol. Any Ideas??

Pull the line off of the valve, one between intake and bvsv (bi metallic vacuum switch valve), put you finger over the vacuum line. Did the idle stop surging, if so its maybe a vacuum leak, does that line fit tight and snug (requires effort to spin on the barb).

with the engine "dead cold" test the bvsv, pull the vac line from the intake and the metal vacuum manifold and see if it passes air (apply vacuum to the intake side), if it passes air and you don't live at the equator where its super hot outside its faulty.

Some models have an electronic controlled valve also in the egr plumbing, this can fail also test one as above (doesn't pass air).

Apply vacuum directly to the EGR at its vacuum port, the engine should stall at idle if it does and the rest checked out your problem is likely something you bumped loose while changing the bvsv and not the new one.
