From: Nashville TN. I can help you if you're close BUT NOBODY CAN HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T FILL YOUR LOCATION IN!
It's like a Porsche. Just slow down, take your time and you have to remove 500 components to get to your problem.
If you take enough things off, eventually you'll get to it
Then just flip the upper intake over, and rest it on top of a rag, on top of the P-side fender. Some hoses may pull lose.
Never remove the X over pipe. Leave it in one piece.
Either leave it on the engine and pull the entire thing. Or (for heads only) remove the lower intake and unbolt the heads. Then the nuts that hold the exhaust mani's on. Then the down pipe flange.
Pull ONE head at a time up, then place something soft between the block and head, and pull that head towards the center of the truck. Pull the studs free from the exhaust manifold and pick the head up and out of the engine bay.
Depends. Swapping in or rebuilding another 3.0 is in-expensive (compared to) and easy.
Physically finding a 3.4 and buying or making a new harness is not as easy, and cost effective.
It's 40 horses, and 40 more ft/lbs...
If done right and using top quality parts, rebuilding the 3.0 is usually a one-time deal.
It's the cheapening out, and using sub-standard parts (like U.S.D head gaskets, and cheap belts and WP's) that make for repeat offenders.
