Need brake service advice

My '89 2WD 22RE short wheelbase pickup has developed a grinding sound as I come to a stop, Sounds like from right front.

How tough is a brake job on one of these? And which brand of rotors, drums, shoes, pads etc. should I stay away from? Or would be recommended. I see all kinds on Rockauto...Wagner, Raybestos, Bendix, AC Delco, Beck-Arnley, etc. Various prices. NAPA is also a possibility.

It has 170,000 miles and I doubt the rotors or drums have ever been replaced or even turned/machined. Other than the grinding sound, brakes have worked fine with a trivial amount of pulsation in the pedal.

Thanks in advance, Jim.
