Installing a 1975 celica motor in my 1994 pickup
My Toyota pickup 22re blew up and I bought a 22re out of a celica for really cheap and I’m getting ready to pull out the pickup motor but I’m not sure if there’s anything I need to change in order for it to run with the celica motor. The guy I bought it from said I might need to change the oil pan because one of the motors might be rear sump and one might be front sump but I’m not sure which is which or if their both the same. I do know that the valve covers are different so I will switch over those and same with the intake manifolds. I’m not sure if the intake manifolds are different, they are both EFI but I know mine is fairly new and I know that i won’t have any vacuum line location issues Incase one of the valve covers or intake manifolds have different lines. If there is anything I need to know before I start the swap I’d appreciate it

If I came across a 1975 celica I wouldn't have just bought the engine!
The 75 celica definitely didn't ship with fuel injection, it wouldn't have even had a 22r but a 20r.
The TCCS efi intake isn't compatible with a 20r. You've got a bit of work to do to verify what you actually purchased. You can measure the block height, and look on the left side of the engine block for the 22r "UFO". There a good article on engine builder magazines website about the Toyota R series engine that details all the changes over the years.

I swapped a Celica 22r into my 1984 4runner back in the 90s and if memory serves correct, i did have to swap the oil pan and pickup. It gives you the opportunity to make sure there is nothing funny in the Celica oil pan.
