HEI Distributor for 2F engine

Hey, my name is Joe and I'm new to this site. Just wanted to share with anybody looking for a HEI distributor for your 2F engine, there is a vendor on ebay with great feedback and great prices compared to D.U.I distributors. Check out this item Item number: 300384650262 or ebay store GR8HOTRODS.

I ordered one for my '77 FJ40 on friday, and should receive it this week. I contacted the vendor directly by phone (listed on site) and he gave me a great deal on the distributor and wires ($250 + free shipping). I searched for a while and this was by far the best deal I could find. D.U.I. wanted $400+ including the wires and there is another vendor on ebay (heidizzy) who wants $285 + $15 shipping who does not have very good feedback.

I hope this helps anybody out there looking for one.

joe

HEI Distributor for 2F engine

Hey Joe,

I know this post is a bit older but I am struggling with a DUI HEI distributor for a 2F engine in my FJ55. I have had it for 6 years or so but have had it in for repairs at Performance Distributors in TN 3 time or more for issues. The main issue is the pins the advance weights pivot on wear big time, to the point it wore all the way through the pin this last time and one weight is completely broken free. I see you posted about a different distributor you bought in 2010. How has that been for you? Working out ok? I need to decide to get the DUI repaired again or go a different route. Ideas on a different route? I changed from the stock "points" distributor due to point getting fouled regularly.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott
