Doing my first rebuild...
Has anyone else found that their eyes are bleeding from reading about every little thing in the engine while doing their first rebuild? Am I being overly critical? Am I using enough FIPG? Is it even supposed to go there? No? But it does on those 2 entirely different bolts and you use the rest of the tube on your oil pan?
Seriously though, I'm actually dreaming about moving step by step through the FSM, I've actually gone out and checked the torque a couple of mornings, before sitting down to read 6-year-old posts about the difference between .001 and .0005mm bearing clearance, then after a few hours getting tired of it and calling 22re performance to ask Jim and Jerry what they think, and finish the remaining 8 hours of my day alternating between staring at my half-built engine and then asking more questions that have been answered by yall long ago.
Thank y'all for all the posts that have been so helpful, I plan on doing a rebuild thread soon and will attach and credit any posts that I found helpful.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

But, but, but........ Have you had the left hand calibration of your torque wrench checked???????
But really....
I'm sure your engine will be a thing of beauty that will give you satisfaction and long service.
Everything really is in the details.

Yed I did! and drove it almost all the way across the country. Still need to do a little bit of work on it, a slight vacuum leak I need to search out and I'd like to get my fuel injectors cleaned and serviced, but the engine is strong!
Still want to put together a proper build up thread, but I got home and now I gotta work on my broken house so the truck has taken back burner. Ah the joys of owning old things.
