A/C vapor?

Hello all, apologies if this has been covered. I have a 1993 SR5 pickup. Every now and then, (more and more lately) an odorless white vapor is coming out my vents. Years ago I switched over to the new Freon but I don't think its related to that. I'm not very familiar with the climate system so if you have had this happen to you please try to give me detailed info on what I need to do to solve this. My thanks in advance. Cheers..........

This is a good question. I have the very same experience with my 1995 4Runner 3.0 SR5. It's happened about 3-4 times but not recently, say in the last couple of years. I would suddenly get white smoke or vapor from the vents, so much that it scared me, and I shut down the truck, concerned that something was on fire. After inspecting the vehicle, I started it back up, and there was no smoke, no issue, and it ran just fine. I think it might be condensation in the heater core area, and when turning on the AC, condensation gets vaporized and comes out of the vents. But that is purely a guess; I would love to know what it is though.

Yes, on humid days, it's just condensate coming out. Shouldn't be any trouble for you.

Check the freon fill, pressure, etc, but I wouldn't worry about it, myself.

Check the drain in the bottom of the evap box, it should have a drain tube dumping to the outside. Sometimes they willl get plugged up with debris, dust etc,
