I'm brand new here and after the advice of my brother and brother-in-law picked up a '98 4Runner last weekend. It did not come with the owners manual and I looked on Ebay to find it being sold for $20-$50. That's a bit more than I hoped to pay to just find out some of the routine functions of the car. Do you know of any better/cheaper places to get the manual or read it?

No problem. I recently bought one for a 2002 on ebay, paid 15.00 shipped. Check ebay every now and then one will turn up.
