'95 4Runner, plug wires

'95 4Runner, 3.0....
Regarding the plug wires, anything "special" about the plug end (noticed the interesting little retainers at the cap end. BTW, I'm from the Jeep world 'till just a week ago). To remove the wire from the plug end do you just grab the boot and pull ? Tried, but they really don't want to come off, at least not easily.
The cap ends pop right out after lifting up the little plastic finger on the retainer.
Do I just "honk" down a little more on the plug end, or is there some nifty little catch on that also ?

Thanks,
Fred

I just grab down as close to the end as possible, wiggle and pull at the same time. Good luck and welcome to the world of Toyotas.

Well, these must be aftermarket wires.
Grabbed, wiggled and pulled the boot, pretty much as hard as I could (not too much room around the area) and the boot simply slids up the wire leaving the end of the wire (the metal clamp) still connected to the plug.
Wires are "Sierra hi tenson, made in Japan", so I assume that they're aftermarket.
I'll probably just get a replacement set of wires and then do whatever is required to get the old wires off the ends of the plugs, which will probably end up being simply ripping 'em off.
