I'm just wondering what all do i have to do to do the swap? I have the front and rear axles off a 83, but I'm trying to keep normal running height with the 83 4x4 had stock.

I hope you have more then just axles.

The transmission and transfer case the drive shafts both front and rear springs

Much easier to do this if you have the complete vehicle

simply stated you remove the front suspension and steering linkage and install the parts from the solid front axle.

I am sure there are other important things I just don`t remember not enough coffee yet.

You don`t say auto or manual??

Now if your doing this because your bored and need something to do I can relate.

Quite a lot of work to get a 4x4 truck. Are you planning a 3.4 swap as well while things are apart.

I hope your fabricating skills are good to go.

 

There's a build on Pirate on a 2wd SAS. It's a blue regular cab on 31's or 33's nice and low. Close to stock hight of a factory 4wd truck.

 

I have the truck I and its going to be a 5 speed manual no auto hate them to much to say in words. do I keep the steering box or not?
oh yeah I have been fabin stuff for a while and Im keeping the 22re I might get a ret block to turbo it later down the road.
