4x4 question
Hello I am new here and the name is James. I have a 94 Toyota pickup, 5 speed and 22RE. It's a 4x2 and I want to convert it to a 4x4. I wanna know about how long this takes and what all I have to do besides the basic's. I know I need a front axle and leaf springs and transfer case. Is there anything else I will need?

If i remember the 2wd and 4wd frames are very different.
What kind of shop and skills do you have.
Why do you want to do this??
It is a lot of work
Much easier to just sell your truck and buy the one you want.
Buy one with a bad engine and good frame and swap or your engine.
It can be done but it takes alot of work to do it correct I would want the whole 4wd truck sitting right beside the project truck.
If not I have found even doing just a auto to manual swap you run yourself ragged just running after little stuff.

you would need front frame plates and solid axle or if you want to stay ifs a tranfer case and a front driveshaft with 2 friends it should take a weekend maybe longer pending on how fast the front driveshaft takes to arrive

Well I have no way to get an IFS. I got buddys that build nothing but toyota's and they have spare parts and he says i just have to get rid of my control arms and make mounts for the leaf springs and mount all that up and then the transfer case then have drive lines cut which i can hve it done cheap just dont have 900 bucks for the parts and i could have it done in a day. i work pretty fast. I did a sas in my 88 ranger and had to build lots of custom things in a day and a half but cant seem to find the right tie rod for it
