It looks to me if you just want to rebuild a third member...it would b just as cheap to buy one already built...any feedback...it looks that you mite save 100 dollars give or take doing it yourself...but pricing the kits from reputable companies adds up quick and the same companies have pretty good prices on complete thirds...with all the good stuff....just looking at this...and im sure this has been covered...ten years ago or 2 days ago..

You are correct. And for most, then they dont have to worry about getting the gear pattern correct by buying complete. Buying 3rd parts makes sense if you say already had the housing, or gears, or locker... etc..
