ok so here is the deal, my buddy is gonna sell me a 22r with bad bearing and another block and head. the other block is a 22r block and a 20r head. the 22r has a brand new oem cam in it with like 300 miles on it if that, and my plan is to rebuild the 22r and put the 20r head and i was wondering if the 22r oem cam would work in the 20r head.

 

cam will work, but head will only work if the block is an early 22r block. A late block won't work.

Remember this combo only works well with the 20r head that has been ported and larger valves installed. And if you have a later model truck your exhaust manifold will not work. Also IIRC the 20r intake manifold must be used, but I could be wrong.
