1990 Uhaul truck trans issue

Hey everyone. I have a 1990 Toyota 1 ton. Former Uhaul truck. 3.0 v6. Automatic transmission.
Tranny doesn't always shift right. Sometimes takes too long. It sat for a while before i bought it. And for a year after i bought it also. I was busy and didn't have time to fix it.
Anyway. I changed the tranny fluid out. Added Lucas trans fluid to it. Been driving it hoping it would smooth out. But not really yet.
I am not familiar with Toyota's so much. Is there a shift solenoid that could be sticking?
What do i look for? What should i try next?
I am generally a Chevy guy. But i love this box truck for hauling stuff. And it drives like a million bucks. Its not all that beat up.
But this tranny issue is sort of irritating me.
Thanks for your help.
