Lift/Tire Rec for 4th Gen Limited

Lift/Tire Rec for 4th Gen Limited
Hey folks,
I would like to modify my 04 Limited to make it look a little more aggressive. I am more concerned with looks than performance. I hardly ever go off-road. It just looks too much like a street truck with its stock configuration.
I was thinking about going with 285/75 Revos on 16-inch wheels.
1. My vehicle came with 17-inch wheels. Will the 16's fit my vehicle?
2. Should I go with Daystar's 2.5-inch or Revtec's 3-inch lift to fit 285's?
3. Are 285's too much for an everyday vehicle (mileage and power wise)? Would it be better to go with 265/75's, with a 1.5-inch Daystar lift?
Thanks,
Barry Dickson

There is a number of memebers on the forum that got lift and bigger tires, Good Times, fourrunnability, 02Runner, and others. Most have picture to give you an idea of what it will look like. You will probably have to do some trimming with 285's.
Most people seem to do the 2.5" daystar or 3" Revtek kits.
I am planning on doing the 2.5" Daystar and 265/70/17. You will be able to fit bigger tires with that lift.

I haven't gotten to finish installation yet, but I think I will loooove my RevTek! The only reason I recommended Cornfeds is because I often read that those spacers are better made, and people kept telling me to get them ... but then when they found that I had XREAS, they'd tell me to get RevTek or DayStar ...
I have no idea, Just that I know most people would rate the Cornfeds above Daystar/RevTek ... I think I saw a few different threads where that was the consensus.
(but really, i know i will love the RevTek, it was just that in general people held the Cornfeds in high[er] regard)

I personally think cornfeds are better due to 3 reasons:
1 - construction is metal and not polyplastic(or some poly stuff).
2 - designer/developer is a toyota nut (now this should be worth extra points!)
3 - replaces existing top plate and better on the cv's (i think on this part, gotta reread some stuff to verify).
But currently Cornfed's don't have a setup for the 4th gens
So until they get their act together, everyone is stuck w/ the Revtek or Daystar spacers. Downey, well you know Downey, they're taking a "very very" long time but when it does come out I think their product will kick butt. Sway-A-Way should have their setup done and should be on the shelves around the sametime as Downey.
If you have xreas, then you're stuck w/ spacer technology. If you dont, then your options are open to whatever ya want to get
Barry:
Since you don't plan to see much of the dirt, I'd recommend only going 1 size up on the tire instead of the 285's. 285's cost abit more (tire wise) and it'll eat away your mpg by atleast 1-2mpg so unless you have a bottomless pocket I'd go w/ the 265's. And with the one size up tire, you won't necessarily have to get a lift btw.
As for the lift, go with the cheaper of the two lifts (Revtek/Daystar) since both are about the same. Not sure how much either one is though but I know you can get either one for well under 300(?)
The only way to verify that you can fit 16's is by actually taking one and trying it. I read that yota changed the 04 ltd's brakes to be bigger so you might not be able to fit the 16's but I'd say goto a tire shop and try. It won't hurt ya one and it'll give ya a first hand experience anyway
America Tire/Discount Tire is what I recommend since they have their warranty (must get) which can replace the tire for any reason (doesn't matter if it was offroad or not).

I saw some Runners on the forum with 265s (32's) on stock wheels and no lift. I think Lefty had 265's (32's) on 0-offset wheels with a 2-inch custom lift. I saw some others that had 285's (33's) on stock wheels with the Revtek 3-inch kit.
Does anybody know what it will take to fit 285's on 0-offset wheels? I really want to go with 0-offset, as I think the stock wheels hold the tires too far in. If I can't fit the 285's comfortably with the revtek kit and very minor trimming, I will have to settle for 265's (32's) and the daystar kit. Will it make any difference if I go with Revos vs. BFGs?
Thanks for all the help guys. Just brainstorming here.
