4th Generation Fog Light Mod

Soon I will be ordering my fog lights, I want to install the switch on the center console area. I got a lot of great information from a felow 4 Runner owner, however I would really like to put some visuals with his tips.

Does anyone have any pictures of the first couple steps of dismainteling the center console so I can put the switch there?

Iman,
I clearly remember a long time ago someone posted pictures of disassembling the center console to wire lights or a switch just as you want to do.
I'm sorry to say I can't remember if it was here or in 4runner.org.

But, I do remember it was a simple pop-out unit. That's all I remember about it, hope it helps.

pulling the center console apart is a piece of cake...should take you no longer than 5-10 min. I have had mine apart numerous times, you just have to pull one screw that is located inside the slim little black compartment below all the temp controls, and another screw or two up front and underneath the dash...all are visible and in plain view if you just lower your head, and you may not even have to pull all three screws just to get into the console...I had it all apart mainly to wire my stereo. The rectagonal pieces pop out from the inside out, so once inside, they come out and also snap back in easily.

Mod for independant 4th gen fog light switch?

Does anyone know of a write up for modding the 4th gens fog lights to operate independantly from the low beams? I am thinking of using one of the empty switch slots in the dash for a switch to turn the fogs on and off independant from the headlights. I did a search but .....nothing for the 4th gens. Anyone?? Using the fogs WITH the low beams in snow storms reflects a hellavalot of glare.
