Hi Guys,

My tranny needs rebuilt...again. Marlin has an 11 week wait and I haven't found anywhere else that has them. I know my options include getting a rebuild kit and having it rebuilt locally, which is my best option at this point. That will take a couple weeks at best and I hope to move quicker than that.

Please let me know of any reputable places to check. I'm in Eastern North Carolina, so shipping is a concern.

What was the cause of the failure? You can source a used one and run it until you rebuild the one that went out.

 

4Crawler's site says he got his rebuilt W-56 from Transmission Exchange, but the link on his page doesn't look very functional anymore. Googling it shows a Transmission Exchange in OR and TX - the OR outfit is probably the one 4Crawler used if it's still in business.

 

I used a guy in Marietta GA who did a great job. GA Precision Gear.

Might be a bit of a drive though
