Hi Folks. See image of tailgate latch striker on my 88 2wd longbed. (This is the left side.) Tailgate closes and latches just fine. Question is: which side is the rubber bit supposed to go on -- toward the gate or toward the bed? It'll bolt on

either way and I can't remember which is correct, or which one goes onto which side. Can you help?

 

Well I’m not sure as I have a 91 4wd and no clue how the beds differ, but here is a pic of mine and no idea if it’s any help
