A week ago my speedometer in my 1994 4x4 truck stopped working. After searching this forum I realized it was electronic and not cable so I took the three screws out of the cap on the speed sensor (the black part in the picture below. PS this picture is borrowed from google images and is not my part), and only the "cap" (or black part) came off. The part that is silver in this picture stayed in the T-case. So, obviously I need a speed sensor, but how do I get the old one out?
Interesting note: after I put it back together the speedometer worked for about 50 miles!
the 3 screws are actually only the sensor cover. i believe there is a bolt/screw on that ear it's sitting on in the pic. you would remove what is holding that to get it out.
